Colette McInerney

 

Colette McInerney has had 30 years combined experience in the areas of cdredit union development and management, microfinance and community development both in Australia and overseas.

Colette worked on the innovative CreditCare project working with rural and remote and Indigenous communities assisting them to gain access to basic financial services. During this time she was introduced to and worked with Paul Briggs and other Indigenous members of the formation committee in the development and implementation of First Nations Australian Credit Union.

Colette has worked overseas on credit union development projects in the Republic of Georgia and Laos for the World Council of Credit Unions and she has also worked for local government in rural Victoria on community building projects.

Prior to joining First Nations Foundation as CEO, Colette was National Microfinance Manager at Good Shepherd Youth and Family Service - managing corporate partnerships with National Australia Bank and Origin Energy and multiple (no interest and low interest) loans programs and services for people on low incomes throughout Australia.
