History

First Nations Foundation (FNF) was formed in early 2006. The First Nations Foundation is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee, and is an income tax exempt charitable institution. The Foundation has a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status.

Historically speaking Indigenous people are the most marginalised people in Australia. FNF was set up for the specific purpose of providing direct relief to Indigenous people through the delivery of culturally and locationally appropriate financial literacy programs, and the improvement of access to culturally appropriate financial services and products through mainstream financial service providers.

FNF is dedicated to honouring the direct capacity for the provision of culturally appropriate financial literacy, financial services and products and cultural awareness training in the non-Indigenous community to lead to very significant life changes for participants.

The Foundation was set up with the support and assistance of: Arnold Bloch Leibler, ANZ, Credit Union Australia, and Indigenous Enterprise Partnerships.
