Michelle Crawford is Melbourne born and bred. She joined the Board in May 2016 and brings 25 years of experience working within the community sector.
Michelle has knowledge of a diverse range of services including Microfinance, Employment, Education, Training, Children & Young People, and the Governance of Not for Profit organisations. She is currently CEO of Concern Australia, an organisation with a 40 year history, whose work with children and young people focusses on education, housing and homelessness.
Her background has included oversight of partnerships with business, government, community organisations and various funding arrangements which led to innovative responses both domestically and in other countries. She is passionate about practical responses that address the exclusion, mobilising partnerships with a strong focus on responses that are developed and delivered by community, for community.
Michelle has a Masters in Social Science, Graduate Diploma in Adult Education and Bachelor of Business. She is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, previous Chair of the Australian Financial Inclusion Network (2008-2016) and Wavecare Counselling Service (2006-2011).
