First Nations Foundation is pleased to announce the beginning of a partnership with Desart for the development of unique financial literacy program for remote Indigenous artist. Desart is the non-profit peak industry body for over forty Central Australian Aboriginal art centres. Art centre members are community-based enterprises, owned and managed by Aboriginal people in their communities. Based in Alice Springs, they provide economic, social and cultural benefits. Desart member’s represent approximately 3000 artists, from sixteen distinct language groups spread across the Central desert region of Australia who reside in communities across South Australia, Western Australia and Northern Territory.

During the 6th to 8th of August FNF had the pleasure of attending the Financial Services Councils Annual Conference - ACCELERATE. The Foundation was extremely excited to unveil our first exhibition booth designed by WOW Design.
During the conference the first Indigenous specific session was held to discuss Trustee companies and Native Tittle.

The session explored Indigenous engagement with the financial services industry and consider the role of trustee companies in managing indigenous capital (including Native Title).
